Gastlotse - Visiting Controller

Herzlich Willkommen in der Regionalgruppe Berlin!

Innerhalb von VATSIM Germany sind wir für den Luftraum im Nordosten Deutschlands zuständig. Der Hauptflughafen innerhalb unseres Sektors ist Berlin-Brandenburg (EDDB), zu unseren Minors zählen unter anderem Leipzig, Dresden, Rostock-Laage und Heringsdorf.

Minors: Kleinere Flughäfen im Airspace (EDDP, EDDC, EDDE, EDAH, ETNL, ...) können ohne Freigabe besetzt werden, sofern das benötigte Controller- Rating vorhanden ist. Bitte bereitet euch hier ausführlich mit den entsprechenden SOPs vor. Für unseren CTR-Sektor im Bereich Sachsen wird eine Freigabe benötigt.

Berlin: Das Mindest- Rating für Gastlotsen in der RG Berlin beträgt S2, Gastlotsen anderer vACCs benötigen das Rating S3 oder höher. Trainingsanfragen müssen in diesem Thread gestellt werden. Wenn ihr einen Termin erhalten habt, bereitet euch bitte vor und lest die entsprechenden Wiki-Seiten durch.

Um in Berlin lotsen zu können, benötigst du zunächst eine Einweisung für den EDDB_S_TWR. Diese erfolgt normalerweise als Lesson mit anschließender Euroscope Sim- Session oder VATSIM Online- Session. Wenn der Gastlotse beweist, dass die speziellen Verfahren von EDDB verstanden wurden, wird die Freigabe für den EDDB_S_TWR erteilt.

Für Einweisungen auf dem Approach und dem Center gelten folgende Voraussetzungen:

EDBB_S_APP: Mindestens 3 Traffic-Sessions auf EDDB_S_TWR (Ein Teil auf Apron möglich) nach Erhalt der Freigabe, innerhalb von 6 Monaten
EDWW_B_CTR: Mindestens 3 Traffic-Sessions auf EDDB_S_APP und 5h Onlinezeit auf EDDP_S_APP nach Erhalt der Freigabe, innerhalb von 6 Monaten

Traffic-Sessions: Sessions am Abend, beim Online Tag oder bei Events, die mindestens 2 Stunden gehen.

Wenn diese Voraussetzungen erfüllt wurden, kann nach oben genanntem Schema eine Einweisung für den APP oder CTR erfolgen.

Verlust der Freigaben

Da sich Prozeduren ändern können und in Berlin eine gewisse Traffic-Menge zu erwarten ist, die voraussetzt das alle Controller am Flughafen genügend Übung haben, können Gastfreigaben bei Inaktivität entzogen werden. Bitte überprüft hier, ob eure Freigabe noch gültig ist. Normalerweise wird eure Freigabe entzogen, wenn an weniger als 3 "Traffic-Sessions" (mindestens 2 Stunden) innerhalb der letzten 6 Monaten gelotst habt. Freigaben können jedoch auch nach individueller Entscheidung des LM oder der RG-Leitung entzogen werden.

Um die Freigabe wiederzuerlangen, wird normalerweise ein "Refresher" durchgeführt, in dem die Prozeduren wiederholt werden und wir mögliche Änderungen der letzten Monate besprechen. Auf welcher Position und wie ausführlich dies geschieht, entscheidet der Mentor

Sonstiges: Wir bieten hier einen praktischen Englisch-Deutsch-Guide für unsere Gastcontroller. Denkt daran, dass VFR-Verkehr sowohl auf Deutsch als auch auf Englisch angeboten wird. Darum ist der Guide auch für unsere deutschen Trainees sinnvoll!

Within VATSIM Germany, we control the north-eastern part of the country. The biggest airport in our sector is Berlin-Brandenburg (EDDB), a few of our minors include Leipzig, Dresden, Rostock-Laage, and Heringsdorf,.

Minors: Minor airports in the airspace (EDDP, EDDC, EDDE, EDAH, ETNL, ...) can be staffed without special training if the controller holds a rating of at least S2. It is obligatory to read the wiki article for that airport before going online. To gain a endorsement for our CTR-Airspace responsible for our Airports in Saxony you are required to have a training.

Berlin: The minimum rating for visiting controllers in the regional group is S2, for non- vACC members its S3. Applications for familiarisation trainings should be posted in this thread. Once a Training has been confirmed, please read through all of the SOP documents needed for that position.

Familiarisation on the EDDB_S_TWR position is usually conducted in form of a lesson, followed by an Euroscope simulator session or a VATSIM online session. If the visiting controller shows familiarity with the procedures of EDDB, a major endorsement for EDDB_S_TWR is granted.

For the familiarisation on the approach and the center positions, the following requirements must be met:

EDDB_S_APP: At least 3 Traffic-Sessions on EDDB_S_TWR (may partially be done on Apron) after receiving your endorsement and within the last 6 months
EDWW_B_CTR: At least 3 Trafic-Sessions on EDDB_S_APP and 5h Online on EDDP_S_APP after receiving your endorsement and within the last 6 months

Traffic-Sessions: Sessions in the Evening, on our Onlineday or Event that last for atleast 2 hours.

When these prerequisites are met, the visiting controller can apply for training on APP or CTR which is conducted in a similar manner to the one outlined for TWR.

Loosing your endorsments

Since procedures change from time to time and Berlin receives a lot of traffic, we have to ensure that all of our Controllers are up-to-date and well-trained. Because of this, your endorsements can be lost. Please check here if your endorsement is still valid. You will usually lose your endorsement if you have not provided ATC on at least 3 Traffic-Sessions in the last 6 months. However, our Head of Training or Chief can still revoke your endorsements, if they see the need for this.

To regain your Berlin endorsement you will usually have a "Refresher" where we will recap the procedures and look at possible changes in procedures since you stopped controlling. The position on whcih this will take place and how extensive it will be, will be decided by the Mentor.

Miscellaneous: We would like to provide a handy English-German phraseology dictionary for our visiting controllers. Remember, VFR traffic may be conducted in either English or German language in Germany. This may come in handy for our German trainees, too!
