Top-down Procedures

Approach and Center stations do not provide top-down services for uncontrolled airfields in Germany but will provide coverage for IFR arrivals and departures.

IFR departures still have to contact München Radar on 132.555127.955 for their enroute clearance if StraubingSchleissheim Information is offline but aan APP or CTR sector is covering the area (check vatsim-radar.com).

Parking Positions

The 6 parking positions between taxiway A and B (in front of the tower) are handling positions and should only be used for handling and turnarounds - the most easterly one is used for flights requiring customs. These positions will be entered from the south and exited to the north.
Parking positions for long term parking and hangars are accessed via taxiway C with the taxiway south of hangars III and IV being limited to a wingspan of 11 m.
For larger aircrafts, parking is possible inside the parking area between taxiway C and the holding point of runway 27.wip

Takeoff

Since StraubingOberschleißheim is uncontrolled, the AFISO won't issue a takeoff clearance. Instead, takeoffs are conducted at pilot's discretion. However, you might be assigned a release window during which you have to depart (inform ATC immediately if you are unable to depart within this window). IFR departures enter controlled airspace when passing 1000 ft AGL.

Auto-handoff

StraubingOberschleißheim utilizes an auto-handoff procedure for departures; the AFISO will not hand off departures to the approach controller. The current airborne frequency will always be given by the AFISO.

Report passing 36002600 ft to StraubingSchleissheim Information and contact München Radar on 132.555127.955 after departure!

VFR

Airspace

The Straubing RMZ extends from ground level to 1000 ft AGL (ca. 2100 ft MSL) and airspace E around the RMZ is lowered to 1000 ft AGL. All aircraft have to announce themselves on Straubing Information when entering the RMZ, as well as when exiting it and must maintain at least listening watch for the entirety of their stay within the RMZ. VFR traffic should avoid the IFR approach and departure sectors.
Straubing has three published traffic circuits - one for gliders in 1800 ft MSL south of the aerodrome, one for training flights in 1600 ft MSL north of the field and one for all other traffic in 2100 ft MSL also north of the field.
Entry into downwind, base and final shall be reported without request. Deviations from the traffic circuit e.g. direct or straight-in approaches, require approval by Straubing Information. Heading changes for departures shall be performed in crosswind at the earliest. Direct departures and the use of the training circuit also require approval by Information.wip

Sonderlandeplatz Griesau, EDPG

The special airfield Griesau, EDPG is situated to the northwest just inside of the Straubing RMZ. Entries to and exits from the traffic circuits at Griesau shall only be done from/to the north and happen outside of the Straubing RMZ. If the traffic circuit within the RMZ is adhered to additional listening watch on Straubing Information is not required, In case of any deviation within the RMZ immediate contact to Straubing Information is required.
