Top-down Procedures

Approach and Center stations do not provide top-down services for uncontrolled airfields in Germany but will provide coverage for IFR arrivals and departures.

IFR departures still have to contact München Radar on 127.955 for their enroute clearance if Schleissheim Information is offline but an APP or CTR sector is covering the area (check vatsim-radar.com).

IFR Departure

Takeoff

Since Oberschleißheim is uncontrolled, the AFISO won't issue a takeoff clearance. Instead, takeoffs are conducted at pilot's discretion. However, you might be assigned a release window during which you have to depart (inform ATC immediately if you are unable to depart within this window). IFR departures enter controlled airspace when passing 1000 ft AGL.

Auto-handoff

Oberschleißheim utilizes an auto-handoff procedure for departures; the AFISO will not hand off departures to the approach controller. The current airborne frequency will always be given by the AFISO.

Report passing 2600 ft to Schleissheim Information and contact München Radar on 127.955 after departure!

IFR Arrival

STAR

There are no STARs for Oberschleißheim. All inbounds should plan a route to VOR/DME MAH ("Maisach") or VOR/DME OTT ("Ottersberg"), which are the initial approach fixes. Tactically the controller might also offer you a direct into the approach procedure via one of the MXxxx waypoints - you are expected to continue the procedure from this waypoint onwards if cleared for the approach.
If you did not receive an approach clearance prior reaching the IAFs MAH or OTT enter the respective published holding.

Approach

Oberschleißheim has RNP approaches for landing direction 074° and 254° as well as a VOR approach for landing direction 074° (final approach offset by 22.1°) which are only available for helicopters. IFR arrivals are leaving controlled airspace when passing 1000 ft AGL.

The approaches lead though airspace class E. Look out for VFR traffic!

Landing

The AFISO will provide neither sequencing nor separation. It is your responsibility as the pilot to coordinate with other traffic on frequency. IFR has no priority over VFR.

You will not receive a landing clearance as the airport is uncontrolled. Instead, landings are conducted at pilot's discretion.
