Transferring Controllers VATSIM Germany
Thank you for your interest in transferring to VATSIM Germany!
Before you get started, please note that we strongly recommend you become a visiting controller and certified to control up to your current permanent controller rating before you transfer.
In this case, all competency checks and training will be waived.
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- You have completed at least 50 hours in positions requiring your current permanent rating within your home allocation.
- You obtained your last rating upgrade at least 90 days ago.
- You have not transferred or attempted to transfer in the past 90 days.
- You have not faced any disciplinary action in the past year.
If you fulfil all of the above requirements, you can transfer to VATSIM Germany via VATEUD Core. Once you have initiated your transfer please contact the training department immediately via atd[at]vatger.de with information on where in Germany you would primarily like to control.
We will try our best to accommodate your wishes and find a mentor for your introductory sessions.
Before you contact us, please read all the information on this page.
Transfer Period
You will have 90 days from your request to complete your transfer. You need to be fully competent and current to control unrestricted positions in VATSIM Germany up to your current permanent controller rating within those 90 days for the transfer to be successful. If full competency cannot be achieved in those 90 days, your transfer will be rejected.
Local Induction Plan
During your transfer, you will retain your current ATC rating.
There is a theoretical assessment for each rating that you have to pass. If one of these assessments is failed twice, your transfer will be rejected.
If you are transferring from outside VATEUD, you will also be required to pass a practical competency check on the network. If you fail the competency check, you will be transferred back to your previous allocation.
Due to mentoring capacity, we cannot offer practical training sessions to transferring controllers.
