General information
Because our splits have become very complicated, it is not possible to cover all of them in the knowledge base. Therefore, if in doubt, always use ATCISS to find the optimal combination and distribute traffic in the best possible way.
Naming
Small Bandboxes
Our small bandbox sectors will each cover the area of one EBG.EBG and use three-letter codes for the logon. Each small bandbox sector can be opened with or without the upper part. In this case, an H is added as the last letter in the login and sector indicator.
Example: The small bandbox for EBG 3 is EDGG_GIN_CTR (GIN). If you want to cover the upper airspace (FFM, FUL) you will login as EDGG_GIH_CTR (GINH).
During coordination, these sectors are referred to by the name of the sector (Gießen/ Gießen High).
Medium Bandboxes
Sectors covering more than one EBG are referred to as medium bandboxes and will log in with one letter. Just like the small bandboxes, every medium bandbox can be opened with or without the upper. The logic remains the same.
Example: The medium bandbox for EBG 3 and EBG 5 ist EDGG_C_CTR (GC). If you want to cover the upper airspace (FFM, FUL, NTM) you will login as EDGG_CH_CTR (GCH).
During coordination, these sectors are referred to by the area they control. These can be directions or prominent landmarks (North (High), Central (High), South (High), Allendorf (High)).
