General information

Because our splits have become very complex, it is not possible to cover all of them in the knowledge base. Therefore, if in doubt, always use ATCISS to find the optimal combination and distribute traffic in the best possible way.

Naming

Whenever a EDGG station covers upper airspace (FL245+) its callsign ends with an H.

Small Bandboxes

Our small bandbox sectors will each cover the area of onea single EBG and use three-letter codes for the logon. Each small bandbox sector can be opened with or without theupper airspace. If upper part.airspace Inis the first case, included, an H"H" is added as the last letter inof the loginlogon and sector indicator.

Example: The small bandbox for EBG 3 is EDGG_GIN_CTR (GIN). If you want to cover the upper airspace (FFM, FUL) youas willwell, loginthe aslogon is EDGG_GIH_CTR (GINH).

During coordination, these sectors are referred to by the sector name of the sector (Gießen/ Gießen High).

Medium Bandboxes

Sectors covering more than one EBG are referred to as medium bandboxes and  willand loguse ina single-letter code. As with one letter. Just like the small bandboxes, every medium bandboxbandboxes can be opened with or without theupper upper.airspace, The logic remainsfollowing the same.same logic.

Example: The medium bandbox for EBG 3 and EBG 5 istis EDGG_C_CTR (GC). If you want to cover the upper airspace (FFM, FUL, NTM) youthe willlogon login asis EDGG_CH_CTR (GCH).

During coordination, these sectors are referred to by the area they control.control, Thesesuch can beas directions or prominent landmarks (North (High), Central (High), South (High), Allendorf (High)).

ThereThe is a special feature at the C and S Center.Center Thesepositions can be opened with or without top-down coverage for Frankfurt.Frankfurt. In this case, an A“A” is added to the code instead of an H“H”:

(
  • EDGG_CA_CTR (GCA),

  • EDGG_SA_CTR (GSA)).

During coordination, these sectors are referred to as Central/Central and South Approach.respectively.

Large Bandboxes

InFor the case of our large bandboxes, thebandboxes, medium bandboxes are combined for operational and logical reasons.
For example, Central and South becomeare combined into Central-South (High):

-
  • EDGG_CS_CTR

    and
  • EDGG_CSH_CTR.
  • EDGG_CSH_CTR

Frankfurt Coverage

The following stations willprovide cover Frankfurt withcoverage decreasingin descending priority withinaccording to the top-down principle.principle. Any station not mentionedlisted does not provide coverage for Frankfurt!
