Overview
Braunschweig Airport is located north of the city Braunschweig in Lower Saxony, which is between Hannover and Magdeburg. This Airport traditionally has been a major center of gliding in Germany and is also used for general aviation, especially business traffic. It's the major hub of the Volkswagen Air Services and the closedclosest suitable airport for the internationally playing Soccer team VFL Wolfsburg.
The headquarters of the German Federal Aviation Office, the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt are located at the Airport, as well as the Research Fleet of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The well known "NAV Checker" has its base at EDVE flying out to calibrate navigational stations like ILS and VORs in Germany.

General Information
Braunschweig is a minor airport of the Regional Group Bremen. vACC Germany Controllers are allowed to control at this Airport without any visiting controller regulations like for major airports (e.g. Hamburg, Berlin) with their S2 or higher Rating. For all Center stations (CTR) covering Braunschweig Airport a Center endorsement is still required.
Tower position does not have to track aircrafts.
