Tasks Center
The area control center (ACC) position is responsible for controlling aircraft flying in the airspace within a flight information region (FIR). The ACC is typically controlling flights in almost every level, at low and high altitudes. The Center typically accepts traffic from - and ultimately passes traffic to - an approach/arrival position or another ACC station.
Just as the TMA controllers, the ACC controller has various tool at their disposal. They can use STARs, transitions, and radar vectors to achieve the necessary separation. To maintain this separation, speeds are typically used, which the pilot must adhere to.
note, that above the conversion level (FL280) Mach Numbers will be used!
