Introduction
This Book will intreduce you to Tactical Fighter Controle used by GCI (Sunrise and Loneship). The Following Pages have been kindly provided by Virtual NATO.
A fighter controller is a military radar and tactical officer. They monitor airspace and guide fighter jets to intercept targets or complete missions. They work from ground stations, command centers, or airborne systems like AWACS.
Main Tasks are:
- Track and identify friendly or hostile aircraft.
- Guide pilots via radio to intercept targets or form up with friendly aircraft like Tankers.
- Manage air defense operations and coordinate with different weapon systems.
- Manage exercises and airspace usage.
